Position: Working Superintendent

Position Overview
The Working Superintendent at 3RC Services is responsible for managing and executing various construction and repair tasks while providing on-site leadership and supervision. This role involves hands-on participation in construction activities, overseeing field team members, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring quality standards and project timelines are met. The Working Superintendent serves as a critical link between the Project Manager and the field team, requiring advanced carpentry skills, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Trade-Related Services:
- Perform repairs, installations, demolitions, and replacements of various materials.
- Apply advanced knowledge of property maintenance, rough and finish carpentry, including wood and light gauge steel framing, wallboard installation and finishing, millwork, cabinetry, and flooring.
- Execute assigned Project Work Orders efficiently and with a focus on high-quality craftsmanship.
2. Project Surveying and Planning:
- Conduct on-site measurements and detailed documentation, including photographs and material assessments.
- Assist in determining project scope, manpower needs, required materials, and logistics.
- Read and interpret building plans, including structural and MEP systems.
3. Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Provide on-site leadership to field team members, offering guidance, support, and hands-on training as needed.
- Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure team adherence to project schedules and timelines.
- Act as the primary on-site point of contact, ensuring smooth communication between team members, subcontractors, and Project Managers.
4. Subcontractor Coordination:
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with project plans and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to address and resolve any subcontractor-related issues on-site.
5. Quality Control and Safety Oversight:
- Maintain and enforce strict safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE and adherence to job site regulations.
- Implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle to ensure standards are met.
- Conduct final inspections to confirm project alignment with company quality expectations.
6. Client Communication:
- Maintain regular and professional communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and alignment with project goals.
- Address client concerns promptly and provide progress updates when necessary.
7. Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit daily field reports, timesheets, and project logs.
- Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues to prevent delays or disruptions.
- Utilize experience with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings and healthcare/medical facilities when applicable.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support project success.
Required Experience and Skills
- Supervisory Experience: 2–4 years of supervisory or leadership experience in commercial construction.
- Advanced Carpentry Skills: Proficiency in both rough and finish carpentry with a proven ability to deliver high-quality work.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret detailed building plans, including structural and MEP layouts.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve on-site challenges efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for effective team coordination and client interactions.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software, Microsoft 365, Google Suite, and ProCore (preferred).
- Education and Training
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Relevant trade certifications or ongoing professional development are a plus.
- Completion of OSHA 30 – Construction Training and First Aid/CPR Training (or ability to complete upon hire).
Travel and Other Expectations
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
- Ability to travel to job sites within 90 minutes of Brandy Station, VA, and occasional overnight travel.
- Personal cell phone required for communication and reporting.
- Willingness to submit and pass a background check.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday: Regular hours.
- Occasional on-call, weekend, or evening hours as required.
